The SpecBoxster Racing Team was founded by Nick Richards and Mike Harley to promote the Boxster Spec class and raise money for children in need during the first years of life through our fundraising organization RaceforChildren.org. So far we have raised over $7,000 for the Children's Hospital of Orange County at Mission in partnership with the Tinkerbell Guild. Check out our 2008 24 Hours of LeMons - TINKERBELL ROSSO Racing blog for an account of our racing and fundraising antics.

Updates
(6/7/09) Sunday was a whole different story. What ever we did on Saturday created a very loose car for Sunday. We tried to resolve the handling issues but just couldn't seem to get the car back to where it was on Saturday. Qualifying was horrible with a 1:37.8 and ninth on the grid. A loose car at Big Willow is a bit unnerving. I'll let the video speak for itself.
Regan had a very good weekend in her BSX. Very consistent 1:39's all weekend with a 1:39.0 Sunday morning. She threw down a 1:39.2 late in the day for her time trial which was no easy task given the heat, track conditions and the fact that Nick had to barrow her rear tires for the Cup Race just before her time trial. I think we'll see a sub 1:39 her next time out. Read more on Facebook.
(6/6/09) The car setup on Friday and Saturday went well with a respectable qualifying time of 1:34.1 for third in class, nineteenth on the grid. The guys running the square tire option seemed to have a little bit more speed. We were a little off the pace for the 3 hour Tribute to LeMans race but put up a good fight. Nick took the first 1.5 hour stint. After a great pit stop by our crew, Jim Steedman jumped into the car for the last 1.5 hours. After a spin and drop to sixth Jim battled back all the way back up to second. After a full course yellow restart Jim got pinched in turn one and spun to the inside so not to take anyone out. Consistent driving got us back in contention for a podium finish but we were running low on fuel. We ended up having to do a splash and go with ten minutes to go. Again our pit crew performed flawlessly. Jim got back on the track in a hurry and managed to pass the third place car after they had some contact and their power steering went out - third place in class! Facebook.
(5/17/09) A wild weekend at Auto Club Speedway. Regan Steedman #979 had another strong showing in her BSX throwing down a 2:03 in her time trial beating some of the BSR boys. Nick Richards #959 took first in Saturdays Cup Race with several Boxsters coming together on the start. After qualifying second in Sundays race Nick made contact with the pole sitter in first turn. Nick avoided disqualification as the Competition Committee ruled the contact was not his fault. Nick went on to lead the the race until a yellow flag was thrown in the last corner of the last lap and was passed. The Comp Committee is still reviewing the yellow flag incident - 2nd place for sure, possibly 1st depending the yellow flag ruling. Read more on Facebook.
(3/22/09) BSR team driver Nick Richards places 2nd in all three sprint races behind Gene Sigal. New team member, Regan Steedman, drove her new BSX to claim first in Sunday's time trial with a DNR on Saturday due to mecahnical issues. Mike Harley also claimed first in the short track series time trial in the BSX class event on Sunday. Read more on Facebook.
(2/8/09) BSR team driver Nick Richards wins season opener at Las Vegas Speedway setting a new POC track record of 1:49.164. Read more on Facebook.
